Register for the SNIP! Summit

Spay/neuter conference - March 31 - April 2, 2011

November 20, 2010

A national conference on operating and running all aspects of a spay/neuter program. As the only national training center in the country for high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN), Humane Alliance is hosting this national conference to train professionals in all aspects of operating a spay/neuter program.

The SNIP! Summit will offer more than 36 workshops, special sessions, forums, and wet labs in order to share proven strategies and techniques of HQHVSN program work.  A workshop on Building a Community TNR Program will be offered by Bryan Kortis of PetSmart Charities.

Whether you have been working in spay/neuter for years or are just getting started, this conference will deliver the resources to help you build a more impactful clinic program in your community.  For more info and to register, click here.

Model TNR Ordinances now available from Neighborhood Cats

New resources for communities legislating Trap-Neuter-Return programs

October 22, 2010

As the practice of TNR advances throughout the U.S., an increasing number of municipalities are enacting ordinances to regulate local TNR programs.  In response, Neighborhood Cats, under the guidance of a licensed attorney, has drafted model ordinances which create an effective framework for implementing TNR on a community basis.  To further understanding of the legal issues involved, we authored two articles - one discussing the advantages and disadvantages of different types of TNR ordinances and provisions, and another on the implications of Freedom of Information Acts on TNR laws.  These resources, plus a listing by state of TNR ordinances currently in effect, can now be found on our TNR Ordinances page.
