Tracking Your TNR Program's Results

New online database relies on remote data entry by caretakers

March 25, 2009

Too often, success for a TNR program is measured only by adding up the number of cats spay/neutered.  While this is important information, for real success, all those spay/neuters need to translate into fewer cats roaming the neighborhood.  Tracking reductions in colony size has always been a challenge, but now the online feral cat database offers a valuable tool for doing just that.

The online database works by having caretakers register their own colonies online.  At the time of registration and when updating, they remotely input the relevant data.  Each caretaker is password protected and can only view his or her own colonies.  The database cumulates all the entries for easy viewing by the TNR program's administrators both online and in a downloadable Excel file.

Also available is a feral cat website which can be maintained and updated without any web expertise.  The website is based on a standard template, but can be customized with your name, logo and other features.  The database can be combined with a feral cat website, or either can be purchased as a stand-alone.

The database and feral cat website, purchased together or alone, cost $500 for setup and thereafter monthly hosting is billed at $30/mo. for the combination or $20/mo. for stand-alones.  All data is confidentially held by JuicyOrange, the software designer and website host, which will provide more detailed instruction on how to administer the sites upon purchase.  For an order form, click here.
