October
16, 2002
As part of its celebration of the 2nd Annual National Feral Cat Day, Alley
Cat Allies (the National Feral Cat Resource) selected Neighborhood Cats to
receive its Award of Excellence for being the Feral Cat Organization of
2002. Co-founders Ruth Sharp and Bryan Kortis received the award at a
ceremony held in Washington D.C. In explaining why the award was given,
Alley Cat Allies cited the impact of Neighborhood Cats' advocacy in
promoting the rapid growth of TNR as the preferred method of feral cat
control in New York City.
