Trap Banks

Your gift means food, shelter and veterinary care for cats in need.

Free equipment loans

In New York City, TNR-certified individuals can borrow traps and, where available, other equipment at no cost from the trap banks listed here. We recommend reserving your traps at least two weeks before your trapping dates and after you've scheduled your spay/neuter appointments. Be sure to return the equipment on time and clean so everything is ready for the next trapper (see cleaning instructions at bottom of this page).

Cleaning

Cleaning

Thoroughly clean the traps and other equipment at the end of each bottle, following these steps:

  • Scrub any debris off the traps first.
  • In a spray bottle, mix 1 part bleach and 10 parts water (gloves and eye shields recommended).
  • Spray the traps, covering all surfaces.
  • Let the equipment sit for 10 minutes, then rinse off.

Instead of bleach and water, you can use a hydrogen peroxide disinfectant like Rescue. Dilute with water as instructed.
